About this artwork
This piece is part of my mini oil painting series, which I began in June 2024. The concept behind these small paintings is to create art suitable for compact spaces, or to complement other artworks and pictures as part of wall decor. They can also serve as charming miniature pieces on a nightstand or desk. Moreover, they make delightful gifts for close friends or loved ones.
Regarding the subject matter, I drew inspiration from violet hues, seeking… to capture still life with nuances of red-violet and blue-violet. To enhance the painting's vibrancy, I introduced orange, which harmonizes beautifully with the violet tones. I opted for a single light source from the left, casting the right side into shadow. I find beauty in the colors of the shadow as well, so I endeavored to infuse both light and shadow areas with colorful nuances.
Vida Göhlmann, an impressionistic painter, employs oil and watercolor, often infused with mixed media techniques. Combining her unique vision with traditional techniques, she captures the nuanced beauty of the everyday. Her art urges viewers to live in the present, evoking a profound appreciation for life's ordinary magnificence.
