About this artwork
This photograph was born out of fear of the unknown.
I wanted to represent the sense of bewilderment that we feel when faced with what we cannot see or understand: like dark, deep water, which hides everything beneath the surface.
The plastic element that wraps the body recalls the idea of something that holds us, covers our view, but at the same time protects us. It is a dance suspended between desire and fear, between the desire to discover and… the need to stay safe.
This work is part of Project Queen, a series that explores universal emotions through female bodies transformed into symbols.
