About this artwork
"Solitude" was born during the pandemic, in a period of silence and introspection. I wanted to create a fairy tale suspended between dream and restlessness: a crowned figure, fragile and regal, sews a face in pieces, a symbol of inner reconstruction. The elements scattered in the scene - ribbons, dolls, bandages - tell of an intimate, wounded and resilient world.
Exhibited in 2022 in the Church of the Santissimo Salvatore in Palermo for the exhibition… "Introspezioni", this unique work is printed on brushed aluminum, enhancing the contrast between light and shadow.
"Solitude" is a reflection on the fragility and strength of the human soul, the first piece of a larger project dedicated to the world of dreams.
