About this artwork
Ragged, another image from the October Challenge I participate in. The word Ragged, makes me think of worn, tired, beaten, yet the strive to continue and keep going even if the body is beaten up to the point of collapse. I feel this way on those days when work has me sore and tired from the hard work I have to do almost every night.
In this piece, I explored raw power and motion using pencil and ink to bring comic energy into a fine art context.… Each line and drip captures strength and fluidity, creating a dynamic tension that feels almost alive. This work will give you sense of struggle in any space, inviting you to feel the intensity of hope to overcoming life's obstacles long after you glance away.
