About this artwork
With 'Ephemeral Blossom,' I wanted to capture a moment of ephemeral beauty and inner contemplation. The reclined posture and closed eyes symbolize, for me, a surrender to a sensual moment or a state of deep contemplation. The blossom growing from the ear or temple is a surrealist element, representing a connection to nature, inner thoughts, or a fleeting idea. It's about surrendering to the moment and perhaps even finding a certain ecstasy in the… stillness. The warm, golden tones of the background and skin emphasize an aura of calm and inner peace, while the cool color of the dress creates a subtle contrast. It's a celebration of subtle emotions and the beauty that unfolds in secret.
Artist Wendy Habegger combines her passion for painting and baking, specializing in acrylic painting. After a career as a baker and pastry chef, she combines various techniques and styles, creating a multifaceted visual language and deliberately pushing the boundaries between analog and digital aesthetics. Her experimental approach and her play with perception and illusion in the form of grid structures and overlays convey emotions, playfulness, and irony, as well as deeper themes of identity and self in the digital space.
