About this artwork
The picture is part of my series of abstract paintings with writing. It was created as part of the "Studio in the Church" in Münstermaifeld. The paintings have a special effect when they are hung in a row. The diptych is formally reminiscent of the tablets of Moses and the word "love" could actually represent the first commandment. The series is a collaboration with my friend Anke, where we swapped canvases every hour and thus had to adapt to what… our partner was doing. In art as in life.
Wolfgang Eberhardt, a passionate painter, discovered his artistic talent through emotional experiences. His figurative works are created through careful use of charcoal, color pigments and binding agents, creating images full of magic and impulse. His art is a bridge of communication, with the aim of reaching the viewer deeply and triggering emotion. With love as his strongest force, he always strives to express true human feelings through his art.
