About this artwork
The picture comes from a 4-part series in which I transferred original advertising posters from the food discounter NORMA onto synthetic board and then painted over them with acrylic.
In the second painting (black and white), Marilyn is painted over with black, white and grey tones. Only her lips and background fragments of the NORMA lettering stand out in red and form a compositional triangle.
The whispered vowels Oooo… and Aaaa… are a representation… of the song JE T’AIME by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg.
