About this artwork

In the 1980s I dealt extensively with the subject of light, which is difficult to depict in painting. Here I tried to do this by reducing it to black and white (see also my Jaguar painting). Cinemas used to be called "movie theaters" in which we were shown various figures of light, heroes (James Dean) and goddesses (Greta Garbo). The paintings were created with an airbrush. They are framed… in simple aluminum strips. The painting is part of a series of 5 actor portraits that belong together and are only sold as a set. The stated selling price therefore refers to the entire series (see the following pictures).
