About this artwork
Maya or “the veil of illusion”, designates in Hindu thought the illusory appearance which hides reality. In the center of the work, a man's back invites the viewer to observe the scene unfolding before him. In a cinema, images projected on the screens appear, nocturnal landscapes, a city lit up at night, fireworks, reflections on the water and the moon. Natural and artificial light mix, creating a dialogue between the empty space of the room, the… images and the viewer. This large canvas highlights the night and questions the boundaries between reality and dream, reality and illusion
Zoé Audou, trained in architecture and art, bases her pictorial expression on her teaching of the visual arts. His palette ranges from intimate figurative paintings to large canvases, using detail to capture the essence of time and memory, with environmental and travel themes. His works, imbued with meditation, invite you on an inner journey, revealing the ephemeral beauty and fragility of our lives.
