A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - Across this selection, the box appears as both structure and starting point.
In some works, it holds — stacked, measured, clearly defined. In others, it begins to shift. Planes tilt. Edges dissolve. Interiors open outward. What reads as a contained form starts to behave less predictably.
The box is no longer stable.
Sometimes it is built. Sometimes implied. Sometimes entered — a space rather than an object. Color and shadow take over where structure falls away, leaving only a suggestion of enclosure.
The box is still there, but it no longer behaves as one.
