A curation by Rose Boutboul, Independent Curator at - This selection explores the persistence of memory through works that treat the canvas like parchment, where time leaves its mark. The collection is distinguished by a layered approach to materials: it features mixed media techniques where the superimposition of old newspapers, collages, and pigments creates a historical depth, as well as acrylics worked by scraping to reveal forgotten forms. The curation also gives prominence to oil paintings on canvas in sepia or faded tones, evoking the aesthetics of vintage photographs, and to works on paper where ink and charcoal sketch evanescent silhouettes. Between organic abstraction and nostalgic figuration, each piece uses the roughness or smoothness of the support to anchor memory in the present, transforming each work into a receptacle of shared or intimate recollections.
