About this artwork
This work is part of the COLORS project. These paintings are based solely on the simple application of color onto a surface worked in relief with chalk.
I wanted to explore the beauty and meaning of pure colors, not just fillers or forms, which prevent them from being simply interpreted as COLORS. I studied the power they have on us and our psyche, their significance, their expressiveness. How their effect varies with the various materials they… are combined with, or over which they flow or move. The color is spread multiple times over a stucco base laid with a three-dimensional relief that creates a highly evocative effect, both tactile and visual.
