Mexico City has a Beethoven monument in a prime downtown location. It was donated by the German community in Mexico City in 1910, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death. The sculpture, by the German sculptor Hermann Hosaeus, depicts Beethoven standing with a music book in his hand—a beautiful symbol of appreciation and the historical connection between German and Mexican culture. By chance, a helicopter flew over the monument—a… sign of Beethoven's dynamism and restlessness, especially amidst dense clouds over the city. A photo not just for Beethoven lovers!
Andreas Bromba, a photographer since the age of 16, uses both analogue techniques and digital processes in his work. He likes to spin his creations in series, sometimes using a minimalist aesthetic, other times with echoes of Yves Klein's striking blue. Andreas Bromba's photos are sharp, but with a certain tenderness, and explore the inscrutability of life, our everyday struggles and the connection between humanity.
