About this artwork
In this work I combine collaged elements with brass, patina, encaustic wax, ink and pigments on Chinese calligraphy paper to create an abstract composition. Inspired by the energy of nature, it explores the balance between structure and chaos. Sealed with epoxy resin, it creates a glossy dimensionality that leaves a timeless impression in any space. It is a dialogue of material and form that invites viewers to reflect on the harmony in asymmetry.

Brigitte Schmitz-Kirschbaum began painting in oils 25 years ago, learning from various art teachers. After initially painting representationally, she later switched to abstract painting and, among other things, refined her palette knife techniques. When her interest in mixed media arose, she acquired knowledge of techniques and materials in various seminars, workshops, and master classes in the USA, Canada, Germany, and Switzerland. Brigitte Schmitz-Kirschbaum draws her inspiration from nature, which continually fascinates her with its variety of colors, shapes, and patterns.
