About this artwork
Esta obra es una exploración de mi experiencia como expatriada y mi búsqueda de pertenencia, donde el edificio, rescatado de su entorno, simboliza la conexión entre mi identidad y el lugar que me acoge. A través de la fusión de fotografía y pintura, se establece un diálogo entre lo tangible y lo intangible, lo terrenal y lo espiritual. Las formas abstractas que lo rodean representan un universo interior donde la nostalgia y el renacer coexisten,… mientras que el contraste entre la concreción del edificio y el fondo etéreo refleja la tensión entre la realidad material y la carga emocional, destacando la necesidad de reconstrucción emocional en el proceso de reconciliación con un nuevo entorno. La serie Forastera aborda temas como el desplazamiento, la memoria y la identidad, sugiriendo que la pertenencia trasciende lo físico y se ancla profundamente en lo emocional, invitando a reflexionar sobre la relación cambiante entre las personas y los lugares que habitan.
Consuelo Palma, a Chilean artist based in Croatia, is a self-taught artist with a background in graphic design and a self-taught painter. She primarily works with mixed-media painting and ceramic sculpture. She has explored a variety of media, including printmaking, metalwork, and collage, among others. Her eclectic style combines minimalist elements with touches of surrealism, using automation as a creative method to capture the essence of the inner world, resulting in unique pieces. Her works explore emotional depth, the search for belonging, and the longing for harmony.
