Putbus 2 is a semi-abstract mixed media work from the Putbus series, which is dedicated to the white princely town of Putbus on Rügen. The painting combines classicist architecture with the colors and structures of the castle park, blending nature and architecture in an atmospheric landscape. At the center is a classicist building modeled in shades of green, which was created using light texture paste. It blends into the landscape in terms of color…
and appears both prominent and harmoniously embedded. The green surfaces, some glazed, some heavily textured, create a calm, expansive mood. Hardened and dyed canvas fabric forms a plastic, relief-like structure reminiscent of dense foliage, organically framing the building. The result is an emotional landscape painting that captures the special atmosphere of Putbus—the combination of nature, history, and vastness.
