About this artwork
Usually I create abstract or semi-abstract dreamlike images. But every now and then I try something new. I wanted to practice painting in oil in a photo realistic style. This painting of bright colorful tulips at night is one of the results.
I was inspired by ‘Eric’ (by Godfried Bomans). I painted a beetle, a catarpilar and a frog that live in a forest made of tulips.
Despite the black background, the artwork is very sunny and cheerful because… of the bright green, red, orange, purple and yellow colors. It seems like the sun is shimmering though the pedals and leafs of the flowers.
The painting is framed in a wooden black and silver frame. The artwork is ready to hang.
