About this artwork
Ardent is an intuitive creation, shot through with deep, vibrant reds, ignited by bursts of luminous yellow. This incandescent work captures the raw emotion of the moment, the vital surge that bursts forth without restraint.
Material and texture are tamed in an instinctive dialogue: each gesture, each layer applied is an affirmation, an anchor, a revelation. Nothing is held back, everything is given.
It's a painting that speaks of inner strength—of… that primordial energy we carry within ourselves and which, at certain moments, seeks to express itself, to offer itself to the world. The foundations of this power surface here, like a silent manifesto: this is who I am.
Ardent is the reflection of an inner fire—not destructive, but creative. A work that is inhabited, alive, and leaves a trace, like an imprint of presence.
Eric Delahaye, a visual artist who works primarily with paint, first gained recognition as a performance painter. Employing a palette knife, he has perfected his unique style, blending abstraction, semi-abstraction, and conceptual art. Through his "Vibrations" and "Effusion" series, he expresses his inner contrasts: masculine and feminine, shadow and light, joy and sorrow. His works evoke a profound sense of freedom, presenting a universe filled with emotion and reflection. Today, Eric is forging his own path in contemporary abstraction. His works are as much mirrors of emotions as they are bursts of life.
