About this artwork
This stunning and highly original, mixed media piece is beautifully composed and executed. A superb example of his 2019 series of shaped paintings celebrating space, form and surface with a bravery and individuality which is a hallmark of his unique style. Layered areas of cloth, hessian and cardboard, combined with rich acrylic colour, mounted on a box canvas, making this work a tour de force for the eyes. The piece comes fully UV varnished and… ready to hang. The work is accompanied with a signed certificate of authenticity.
' The title here is significant. It alludes directly to nature and the environment, a certain wildness and majesty which I have tried to capture with this abstract. For me it speaks of the interdependency of the Oceans, the land, and the fragile nature of our shared planet.'
« I am constantly searching for answers and questions relating to the human condition. Art reveals our greatness and our vulnerability. »
