' This piece recalls a small bird alighting on my kitchen table as I was deciding on a title for this finished piece. The title was obvious from then on. We are, just as we… have always been, subject to omens, though we rarely seem them as such, given our propensity to consider these arbitrary incidents insignificent or accidental.'
