About this artwork
This painting stems from a moment during a trip to Greece, a quiet walk with a friend where a soft pink sky and a rising moon became the focus. While much of my work explores drama and contrast, this piece is defined by a sense of restraint and stillness.
The composition is deliberately minimal, allowing space for the painting to breathe. A single dark passage of land anchors the image, while the sky opens out in soft, shifting tones. Subtle references… to white buildings place the scene within the Greek landscape, but remain secondary to the atmosphere.
As with much of my work, the painting moves beyond a direct representation of place, instead seeking to hold onto a fleeting moment. It reflects a sense of calm and quiet presence, where very little happens and yet everything is felt.
