"Coarse Elegance is a ceramic sculpture that embraces the tension between delicacy and rawness. The form recalls a tailored garment, upright, fitted, and composed, yet its surface is rough, uneven, and visibly marked by the hand.
The dark, matte glaze settles into every ridge and imperfection, giving the sculpture a tactile, almost earthen quality. It feels both carefully dressed and worn by time. The absence of a body within sharpens the contrast:… elegance without vanity, presence through texture.
Coarse Elegance invites the viewer to feel with the eyes, to explore beauty that is not polished, but grounded, honest, and human."
