About this artwork
I wanted to paint a warm, abstract picture that would evoke a positive and cheerful mood in the viewer and have a light, summery feel through its choice of colors. I arranged the colors in several layers, some of them transparent, allowing me to adjust the colors and shapes as I worked, resulting in a vibrant and multifaceted painting that creates the desired atmosphere and, with its rich gradations of form and color, offers the viewer a wide range…
of experiences and interpretations. While painting this picture, I often thought of my granddaughter's smile, the way she greets me (us) when I (we) visit. What a joy!
