About this artwork
For me, the creative process of painting is always a journey into the unknown. I vaguely sense the path in advance, but the concrete goal only becomes clear at the end of the process. In a series of several paintings, in "wide open" I wanted to learn more about light and contrasted pastel-colored areas with white areas of color. I repeated this process in several layers to achieve depth and intensify the interaction of white and pastel tones. I repeatedly… rearranged shapes and colors until the desired order of tension and yet harmony was achieved. The painting appears open and friendly and stimulates the viewer's imagination. The abstract style of painting leaves room for thoughts and dreams, both as a whole and in every detail.
« I want to be creative and experience creativity. Therefore I paint what I feel and with great tension, I look at what surrounds me. »
Hasso Heybrock is an artist based in Germany who has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Denmark, Italy, and Spain. He believes that looking at a painting means walking into an unknown adventure through the picture, where hidden emotions come to the surface. For Heybrock, making the adventure as intense and exciting as possible for the viewer is his main challenge as a painter.
