About this artwork
This work captures the paradox of summer in the countryside: the heat that dries and warms the earth, yet simultaneously nourishes and energizes life. It represents the concentration of force in the soil, where grass, plants, and wind merge into a single vibrant pulse. It is a record of presence under the sun, where light not only illuminates but also becomes matter and accumulated energy.
Technique and Aesthetics: The composition moves away from… the horizon line to focus on the texture of the soil and vegetation. The use of oranges, yellows, and purples creates an atmosphere of dense heat, while the white and blue strokes suggest the passage of wind through the plants. The overlapping patches and asymmetrical gestures reflect the complexity of the soil: a living ecosystem, laden with invisible information that is activated by solar radiation.
Ignacio Barceló Carrillo, initially trained in philosophy, works with drawing and painting using materials ranging from charcoal and sand to industrial pigments. His technique is characterized by an abstract and expressionist style, with intuitive gestures and a profound exploration of the link between drawing and writing. His works seek to convey enthusiasm and expand consciousness, generating spaces of self-knowledge and inspiration through the vibrant energy he manages to materialize on each surface.
