For me, Poised explores a state of heightened awareness just before action becomes possible.
The layers of muted tones and softened contrasts create a field of suspension in which nothing dissolves and nothing recedes. I maintain the tension without releasing it, inviting viewers to remain attentive rather than searching for an interpretation.
The deliberate blurring of contrasts is not a concealment, but a decision to preserve presence.
The image… exists for me in the moment before the decision – alert, reserved, and attentive.
The artwork was created through an intuitive process. The encaustic technique, using liquid wax, translucent transparency, and delicate texture, makes it possible to express feelings that are difficult to put into words.
