About this artwork
Pisces is the first finished piece in my Zodiac Installations series and my own zodiac sign. It captures motion and duality through two koi fish, one leaping upward with resin dripping down its body and the other diving back into the water. The surface is gold leaf over OSB plywood, with sculpted clay water painted in acrylic and sealed under UV resin to create a wet, glasslike finish.
LEDs are embedded in the shape of the Pisces constellation,… using diffusers salvaged from an old plasma screen to soften the light. For me, this piece represents cycles, reflection, and the constant flow between the physical and the spiritual. It’s both personal and symbolic, and it set the tone for the entire series.
