About this artwork
This sculpture is a hymn to dance, an art that celebrates the beauty of movement and the harmony of the body. But it is also a metaphor for the relationship of a couple, a delicate and complex balance, made of harmony and contrasts. The found object, an old scale, becomes the ideal support to represent this duality. The mechanism, a symbol of balance and precision, transforms into a stage for the two dancers, whose sinuous and dynamic shapes evoke…
the lightness and passion of dance and integrate perfectly, creating a dialogue between past and present. The bronze color of the original mechanism was also used to treat the added shapes and is a touch of elegance and solemnity. It is an example of how an object, belonging to a bygone era, becomes the basis for an original creation and can transform into a work of art rich in meaning. I also add the photos before the intervention.
