About this artwork
My works are usually the result of real moments that are weighed down in my memory and blend together influenced by my thoughts and my creative process, this work is a concrete example. In the lower part a temple, which represents solidity, my roots and my artistic studies in fact it is the temple of Paestum, a place close to my homeland. The tradition of hot air balloon flight in Paestum is unique and has always made me think of the contrast between…
something so well rooted to the ground and another that instead soars towards the sky without any anchorage to the earth. Yet without good roots you cannot fly with the right stability and therefore I wanted to create a link between the hot air balloon that bears the Viking symbol of the compass and the temple with a particular suggestion that comes from a magical moment experienced watching a performance of the Cirque du Soleil.
