In this surreal landscape, the viewer encounters a silent, almost otherworldly realm. A row of bare trees is reflected in an intensely red body of water, which acts as an emotional echo of the scene. The sky, in muted gray tones with delicate pink streaks, reinforces the atmosphere, poised between melancholy and introspection.
A lone man stands at the horizon – small in comparison, but central to the emotional impact of the image. The composition… plays with symmetry and reflection, inviting contemplation of loneliness and transience.
Concept, artistic design and post-processing by me, visualized with generative AI as part of the creative process.
High-quality fine art print (giclée print) using pigment-based, lightfast inks on semi-gloss Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta paper (325 g/m²). Limited edition of 20, certificate of authenticity (COA), hand-signed and numbered by me. Unframed.
My name is Manfred Rautenberg, born in 1947 on the German North Sea coast. I create my maritime works from a deep connection to the coastal landscape and from my own impressions. With my works, I try to convey contemplative tranquility. Coastal forms appear as poetic interstitial spaces, characterized by reduction, vastness, and meditative stillness.
Having trained as a graduate engineer in the 1970s, my artistic career is rooted in the precision of technical disciplines. The combination of artistic vision and technological openness lends my work a distinctive character.
I use AI as a highly sophisticated design tool – similar to complex technical systems. Each work originates from a rigorous conceptual framework, which I fill with finely tuned design, curation, and post-processing steps.
Education: Diploma in Engineering, Technical University of Braunschweig, 1975.
