Ice Narwhals is a captivating photograph that reveals an intriguing scene in the heart of Iceland's Jökulsárlón Lagoon. The icebergs appear to emerge from the icy mist like hunting narwhals, their slender forms recalling the mythical silhouettes of these mysterious cetaceans. Their sharp crests and shades of blue and white stand out in an almost spectral sea, creating the illusion that these ice giants are silently moving forward, as if they had… a life of their own in this polar lagoon.
At Jökulsárlón, I've always been fascinated by the way the ice floes transform in response to the light and the movement of the water. That morning, the lagoon was shrouded in a light mist, giving the area an even more mysterious atmosphere. It was then that I noticed a series of icebergs rising from the water, their shapes reminiscent of narwhals, those "unicorns of the sea" that have always fueled my imagination.
I am a self-taught artist who uses photography and documentary filmmaking to document my travel experiences. Through a minimalist style and a careful attention to light and texture, I capture the raw beauty of landscapes and wildlife. My works evoke an intense sensory experience, highlighting the threat of climate change to our planet and the fragility of its ecosystems.
