About this artwork
I melded bright acrylics with stencil to give voice to the raw, visceral emotions inspired by the synesthesia of music. I've shifted from internal struggles, to the external spark of connection, celebrating the intense physicality of the tango, and the hypnotic state of being taken with the music. I seek to immerse the viewer in the tempest of feelings evoked by the passionate embrace, where the couple are defined by bold strokes of colour that evoke…
their immersion in the force of the music.
I've purposefully blurred lines and details, allowing the colours and shapes to dance around the surface in a "shattering" effect. The colour and figures bleed into one another, mirroring the dizzying intensity of the dance itself—a moment where the world outside the embrace ceases to exist. This painting is a celebration of movement, colour,and the profound connections between beings, reminding us of the vibrant, blissful, and beautiful energy found when we are fully present with another soul.
