About this artwork
My wife and I went on a museum tour a few years ago, and in several art museums we spent a long time standing in front of various paintings, discussing them. Our shared reflections on flaws, the interplay of colors, and motifs inspired this painting, 'Still Life 1'. Using oil paints, I wanted to create a somewhat surreal and abstract painting that would also convey a sense of the "old." The canvas board is set in a handcrafted, gold-colored wooden…
