Silence Held Under is constructed through dense vertical descents of pigment that compress rather than flow. The surface is heavily worked, with layered drips, mineral textures, and accumulated residues forming a thickened field of suspended pressure. Blues and greens dominate, interlaced with oxidized ochres and darker sediments that concentrate toward the lower register. The vertical rhythm suggests containment: movement is permitted, but not released.… Gravity operates continuously, yet resolution is withheld. Silence in this work is not emptiness or calm; it is load-bearing. The painting holds what cannot surface without rupture. Texture functions as retention, and repetition becomes a structural mechanism rather than an aesthetic one. Architectural or minimalist interiors with strong material presence. Private collections valuing density over decoration.
