About this artwork
A mystical atmosphere pervades the woods between Stio and Laurino during the last days of winter in February. The sunlight gradually makes its way through the trees, but doesn't quite manage to penetrate them completely...
Here, silence breathes. Here, shadows and light tell their quiet story of winter in the forests.
And every step in the mystical misty forest is like a verse in an old, forgotten fairy tale. The silence is breathtaking.
HALBE… frame, 50 x 40 cm, frosted anti-reflective glass
Sonja Kalmanfi is a painter who creates her art on canvas and paper using pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media. She skillfully moves between realism and abstraction, masterfully capturing light, color, and moods. Her works convey a sensual melancholy and invite viewers to connect deeply with nature and their own inner selves at the threshold between dream and reality. She primarily uses the Cilento National Park in Italy as her setting and source of inspiration, where she spends time regularly. In her paintings, the landscapes of this country merge with the artist herself, her inner self. She uses color as an emotional medium and she not only describes objects or places, but also creates psychological temperature. This fits into the international trend of "slow painting" or poetic landscape painting of the present day.
