In creating this sculpture, I sought to explore the balance between rugged textures and delicate forms, between inanimate matter and a delicate living organism. I utilized clay and ceramics to craft a piece that metaphorically represents resilience and regeneration. The rough, dark outer stone like form symbolizes the hardships we endure, while the gentle, blush-toned blossoms inside speak to new beginnings and hope. This piece invites you to ponder… the strength and beauty that can emerge from adversity, making it an interesting addition to any space.
I am deeply inspired by the primal power and wildness of nature, volcanoes, rocks, water and how delicate, filigree life can be born in this harsh world.
Born in Poland, Agnieszka Borkowsska is a ceramic artist with an extensive grounding in painting. Her pieces transgress classifications, melding the warmth of ceramics with the deliberate strokes of painting, presented often as intriguing bas-reliefs. Borkowska's work is an autobiographical exploration through parallel worlds – those concealed within her and the majesty of the nature surrounding her. Sensuous and inviting, her artworks invite viewers onto intimates voyages of discovery, seamlessly blurring boundaries between the seen and the unseen.
