About this artwork
This work is part of the EXISTENCE or ENERGY project.
I've always been drawn to abstract expressionism. I've created many works using this technique, especially in the early years of my career. In this one in particular, I was inspired by the colors of wildflowers. The colorful, energetic strokes float seemingly chaotically, just as life, existence, and the energy that animates it are chaotic and multifaceted. Yet when viewed from a universal and… global perspective, they possess a harmonious rhythm and a marvelous order, like a dance of strokes and colors. These works are created entirely by sketching the canvas with mixed media; the brush never touches the surface. Their creation is a primordial act, instinctive and sudden, yet behind it lies a study of where and how to drip the paint, so that the whole thing has meaning.
