Eve and Adam are pictured leaving the Garden of Eden. Adam carries their belongings while Eve takes with her a small monkey, a small nod to evolutionary theory.
The bright cobalt hue of the floor tiles hints at a celestial origin. In the background we see prehistoric ancient trees whose ancestors still survive on Kilimanjaro which tells us how long ago the expulsion from paradise took place.
An atomic mushroom rises behind the trees, both as a symbol… of the Big Bang left after the creation of the world, and as a metaphor for all the future suffering of humanity, which has lost its innocence.
