There is a long story that precedes this drawing.
In 2019 Alexander Valchev realized at “Institute for Contemporary Art – Sofia“ Gallery a site-specific project called “Constructive Fluctuations”. This was an installation that occupied entire interior of the gallery space of 42 m2 and 2.80 m height. The effect was a 3D cubistic interior done by used cardboard boxes. It was the Total Work of Art.
During the exhibition Alexander made lots of photographs… of beautiful shapes formed by the hidden lights. Then a year later he started to make drawings based on those photographs. Artist called this series “Fluctuating Constructions”.
"Fluctuating Construction VIII" is a pencil drawing done in classical technic on on Accademia 200 gr/m2 /Fabriano paper/. Like other artist series, this work concerns Valchev`s interest in Modern art and the beauty of the shapes and spatial relationships. All done with personal attitude and motive in a contemporary way.
