About this artwork
Cemeteries in the Catskill Mts., were most often placed on the top of the high hills or low mountains. Frequently they were the resting place for only one family and surrounded by boulders or decorative iron fences. They dot the hills along the country roads. This painting was painted alla prima (all at once) en plein air (outside) on 300 lb. Arches Cold Press paper with deckle edges.
