About this artwork
Andreas Garbe has been fascinated by ancient Egypt since childhood. The bust of Nefertiti, which can be seen in Berlin, is an example of the beauty that Egyptian art created thousands of years ago.
Garbe created the bust using a glaze technique inspired by Otto-Dix, while the rest of the work was made with undiluted paint and both
creates optical as well as haptic contrast to the figure.
