“Lightfall II” develops from the interplay of luminous white areas with vibrant green, yellow, red, and blue tones. The bright center spreads across the composition, altering the effect of the surrounding colors and creating a multifaceted yet harmonious overall impression.
The title refers to a process, not a motif. Light appears here as a formative force that penetrates layers of color, creates connections,… and highlights individual areas. From this emerges an open pictorial space that allows for diverse associations.
The work was created over many weeks in numerous layers of paint. Spatula, pouring, and casting techniques form the basis of this series, whose pictorial ideas only crystallize during the course of the work process and deliberately leave room for individual discovery.
