About this artwork
The artwork is about the magic of nature in motion. It captures a flower in the middle of a "shape-shifting" dance—vibrating with life and reaching toward the sun. I wanted to capture that happy, fleeting essence of a bloom before it fully forms, celebrating the beauty of impermanence and the playful energy found in a garden's secret corners. It’s a dreamy, light-filled tribute to the simple joy of becoming.
I begin with intuitive washes of watercolour,… letting the pigment flow freely to create a soft, ethereal atmosphere. From there, I follow the "rhythm of water" with detailed linework and paint to find the final form. I also include accents of metallic paint that catch the light, allowing the colours to shimmer and shift as you move around this piece. This process allows the painting to feel alive and "fluid.
Coated with UV resistant spray varnish
