About this artwork
This painting came about because a friend asked for a painting of an Ontario Autumnal scene. Other friends saw it and also wanted one. I painted four small paintings which, when placed together, created a long montage which all flowed together. The combined paintings became a symbol of our longstanding friendship. I decided I wanted to paint a much larger version using a variation on the same theme. It has won various awards at local shows and galleries… and at online international competitions. The painting is of yellow Goldenrod in full bloom; the red leaves of Sumac which have already turned; white Birch trees still with their green leaves and dark Pines which are contrast against the colours of the rest of the painting. It is my interpretation of Autumn rather than a totally realistic landscape.
Anne Heather Moore is a self-taught painter with a background in teaching visual arts and mentoring other artists. She creates contemporary realist works—portraits, landscapes, and streetscapes—gradually leaning toward abstraction, with a masterful use of composition and color. Moore’s paintings are structurally balanced and feature harmonious colors, conveying a sense of peace and inviting viewers to experience both tranquility and vibrancy.
