Evening Stillness is part of my series about Lake Saaler – a tranquil natural refuge in my homeland that has been a part of my life for years. In this watercolor, I wanted to capture the brief moment when the day fades and the lake almost completely opens up in stillness and light.
What moves me about this landscape is the profound stillness that descends upon it in the evening. The last warm light reflects off the water, while sky, shore, and… reflections merge into one another. Through transparent glazes and soft transitions, a tranquil, atmospheric depth is created, revealing not so much the specific location as its mood.
This original landscape watercolor is aimed at collectors of contemporary nature art and atmospheric watercolor painting. A work about stillness, memory, and the emotional connection to the landscape.
