In my watercolor "Flight of the Cranes," I depict cranes in flight over a tranquil moorland. The serene rhythm of the water meets the power of flight. Moors and cranes are protected habitats and species; their preservation is of paramount importance to me and is consciously incorporated into my work.
Transparent layers of watercolor and an atmospheric, impressionistic visual language create a sense of vastness and freedom. This original watercolor… won first prize in the landscape category at the International Watercolor Exhibition in Bratislava. I painted it on the highest quality 300gsm cotton paper from the renowned brand Arches.
A work for collectors who appreciate contemporary landscape watercolors, nature art, and meaningful images. The work is discreetly framed in oak with a passe-partout, but is also available unframed upon request.
Annett Coumont is a contemporary watercolor artist who lives and works near Cologne. Using high-quality watercolors on Arches cotton paper, she creates atmospheric works that explore light, stillness, and the emotional impact of nature.
A self-taught artist influenced by international watercolor masters, she developed a distinctive visual language that blends naturalistic observation, impressionistic light, and contemporary, biophilic aesthetics. Her work focuses on depictions of nature and landscapes, floral motifs, and still lifes.
Her works arise from an exploration of solastalgia – the sadness over the loss of familiar natural spaces. The beauty of her paintings points to the fragility of what surrounds us.
Coumont's works are regularly selected for international watercolor exhibitions and are found in private collections worldwide.
