About this artwork
In the watercolor "Forest Glow," I attempted to capture the magic of a forest in a moment of meditative stillness, bathed in the morning light. Sunbeams break through the dense canopy, illuminating the forest floor and bathing it in soft shades of green. With the subtle nuances of light and shadow, I create an atmosphere of tranquility, pristine nature, and timeless beauty.
This work is part of my artistic exploration of the connection between… humanity and nature. Forests invite people to immerse themselves in them and experience their positive effects on mind and health. My art offers a space to pause and immerse oneself in the quiet presence of the forest – a place that provides refuge, inspiration, and a reminder of our primal nature.
The painting was juried by Watercolor International for the international watercolor exhibition in Thessaloniki.
Annett Coumont is a contemporary watercolor artist who lives and works near Cologne, Germany. Using high-quality watercolors on cotton paper from the renowned brand Arches, she creates evocative paintings that explore light, stillness, and the emotional impact of nature.
A self-taught artist influenced by international watercolor masters, Coumont has developed a distinctive visual language that combines naturalistic observation with impressionistic light and a contemporary, biophilic aesthetic. Her work focuses primarily on natural landscapes, capturing fleeting moments when light and atmosphere shape our perception of the world.
Her paintings are intended for collectors who seek tranquility, authenticity, and a deeper connection to nature in their living spaces. Coumont's works are regularly selected by international juries for watercolor exhibitions worldwide and are held in private collections.
