About this artwork
In my artwork "Trees in Snow" from the "Light Hours" series, I have captured a winter forest moment where light and silence play the main roles. Slender tree trunks stand in the cool snow, interwoven with warm sunlight that unfolds into brightness and soft shadowy contrasts.
What interests me most here is the interplay of light, structure, warmth, and cold: The transparent layers of watercolor evoke the atmosphere of a still winter's day and lend… the subject depth and clarity. The reduced color palette of greens, yellows, reds, and blues underscores the focus on light and space.
"Trees in Snow" is a contemporary landscape watercolor that blends naturalism and atmospheric impressionism. The work is aimed at collectors who appreciate tranquil, nature-inspired art that evokes a quiet resonance and seek an original watercolor that brings meditative clarity and timeless aesthetics to a room.

Annett Coumont is a contemporary German watercolor artist who lives and works near Cologne. A self-taught artist, she has developed a distinctive visual language that combines naturalistic observation with impressionistic light and a contemporary, biophilic aesthetic.
In her landscapes, she explores the emotional relationship between humanity and nature. Nature appears not as mere scenery, but as a place of memory, resonance, and cultural identity. A key starting point for her work is solastalgia – the grief over the change or loss of a familiar environment. Her watercolors reveal the beauty and fragility of what surrounds us and invite us to rediscover our own connection to nature.
Her works have been selected for international watercolor exhibitions, have received numerous awards, and are held in private collections worldwide.
