About this artwork

Sunbathing is an art. It requires time and complete surrender. As you unwind from all your daily responsibilities, the mind continues to race from one thought to the other. When you finally slip into a blissful oblivion, the sun colors your eyelids with red tessallations, the heat gets too strong, you pull your hat on your closed eyes in a back and forth that mimicks a thermostat. This painting is capturing that moment when you let go, when you find… a balance between the shape of the sand around you, the sun rays and its heat. In that balance lies the art of sunbathing.
