"Quidquid quareris, invenies in cenabulis
Occdentis, Graecia"
Argos appears in Book XVII, when Odysseus returns to Ithaca after fighting in the Trojan War and wandering the seas, after twenty years of absence.
To better confront his enemies, Odysseus appears with his features disguised by Athena and disguised as a beggar, so that no one will recognize him. But Argos, sick and neglected, does recognize him and laboriously greets him with his tail.… Odysseus, aware of his dog's loyalty and his current condition, but unable to return the greeting for fear of being exposed, sheds a tear. This piece is born from a passion for capturing movement and fluidity in a solid and organic form. I wanted to convey the inner energy and subtle strength of a creature in tension and harmony, creating a space for the eye to move among its open lines. Its presence brings to any environment a sense of balance and life in constant transformation.
Antonio Imbernón Iranzo works in sculpture, painting, ceramics, and poster design, drawing on a self-taught and multicultural background developed in Chile, Puerto Rico, and Paris. His technique is characterized by formal synthesis, the use of geometric planes, and an essential figuration influenced by Mediterranean tradition and classical mythology. His works, which explore the human figure, memory, and universal values, convey a profound vital and spiritual emotion, seeking to give form to the inner essence of the human and the invisible.
